the finished size is 8" x 10" 

It is 141 x 181 stitches.

   Using 18 count Aida

This pattern assumes you know how to cross stitch, including 1/4 and 3/4 stitches. 

(However, if you need help, a Google search for cross stitch instructions will yield many websites with tutorials.)
